Natural Evolutions: One Hair Story

On Tuesday March 15th @ 1PM EST / 10AM PST, Black Women for Wellness hosted a telephone press briefing on “Natural Evolutions: One Hair Story.”

This report outlines the health risks faced by Black women and girls due to a lack of federal oversight and regulation of the hair care and beauty product industry, as well as policy solutions that better support the health of Black women and girls, such as mandated education for hair care professionals on possible health ramifications.

Presenting will be Nourbese Flint, program manager, Black Women for Wellness and Teni Adewumi, program coordinator, Black Women for Wellness.

TELLING THE LIONESS' STORY

Black Women for Wellness is endeavoring to tell our own story and we need your help...

We have entered into an agreement with Southern California Library and Occidental College. Southern California Library will archive Black Women for Wellness history, our newsletters, postcards, invitations, posters, conference programs, voter guides, manifestos, data reports, our history collected over the last 18 years, since 1997.

WAYS YOU CAN HELP:

If you have BWW stuff - everything and anything - please bring it to our office at 4340 11th Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90008 so we can give it to the library.

We have a short window of time to work with. The students will present our work at Sisters @ Eight on April 8, 2016.

Call us at (323) 290-5955 for more information.
