President obama is dealing with an oil spill, terriorist threat, flooding disaster, supreme court appointment, fall out from Arizona's immigration bill and that's all happening this week. In addition there is Wall street reform, the economy and job creation, education, clean energy and continuing to educate around health care reform. What do our Black leaders think he is supposed to do, ignore all of these issues that benefit all Americans including Black Americans to focus primarily on Black issues? When he solve the issues facing America, he is solving issues facing Black America. We are benefiting tremendously from health care reform. We have benefited from the comprehensive credit card reform, our communities are benefiting from the American Recovery and Investment Act that created more than 2.4 million jobs and on schedule to have a part in funding at least 3.5 million jobs by this fall. More than 7 million low and moderate income students will receive 15% increase in their Pell Grant awards to help pay for college. Ten of thousands of teachers, law enforcement officers and firefighters have been able to stay on the job because of the billions of dollars in Recovery Act assistance. This administration has taken steps to address our housing crisis to keep people in their homes.
I live in the 35th Congressional District and I can tell you first hand how some of these actions is affecting my community (predominantly African American). If you are curious about how these actions is affecting your community go to whitehouse.gov or BarackObama.com and find your congressional district. The man is doing more in one and a half years for America than the last adminidtration in eight years. If you want to challenge something, challenge African Americans to become more involved in their own communities, in their own welfare, in the future of their own children, and hold themselves accountable for what they want to hold politicians accountability for. Responsibility and Accountability should be our cry, not what the President is not doing to further the Black agenda. I am not looking to Black leadersd or politicians to further my agenda or improve my standard of living. I am out ther not only fighting for my own welfare and the welfare of my family, but to help make this a better County fo All Americans, thereby making it a better County for my children and their children for generations to come. What are you commitrted to doing?
