This report compiles more than 5 years of surveys, focus groups, literature reviews, canvassing and conversations with African American and Black beauty industry professionals. African American and Black women spend an estimated 9 Billion dollars annually on beauty and personal care products, more money than any ethnic group. Yet the products we use are unregulated, rarely tested and contain many known carcinogens. Black hair care professionals and workers are over exposed to and under protected from toxic chemicals commonly found in hair and personal care products marketed to Black women & girls.
Join our campaign as we advocate for safer personal care products for Black women and girls!
