Running Start’s widely popular Young Women’s Political Leadership Program comes to Los Angeles, California for its first ever west coast conference! High school girls will have the chance to learn about the importance of political leadership and will begin to hone the skills needed to run for public office.

Running Start will facilitate this daylong training with USC’s Unruh Institute of Politics.  The workshop is designed for high school girls from California who have leadership potential and an interest in politics.

Participants will have the opportunity to hear young women candidates, elected officials and female business leaders speak about the importance of having more women leading in politics. The workshop will also emphasize hands on training and will cover topics such as:
  • Why We Need More Young Women in Political Office
  • Crafting Your Message and Giving Your Elevator Speech
  • Networking, Campaigning and Fundraising 101
  • How to Get Involved Now

The fee to attend this program is $100 per participant (which includes meals).  Running Start will provide fundraising advice for participants who are unable to pay the fee.
